A clear path from legal question to lawyer choice

The public pilot verifies and protects a consumer request without releasing it to a law firm. It validates the safety controls first; lawyer distribution remains closed.

Describe

Share the legal category and relevant location

Provide a short, general description that helps identify practice area and geography. Names of opposing parties, evidence, account numbers, and confidential documents do not belong in the initial request.

Verify

Confirm contact information and consent

Verification is intended to reduce false requests and make sure the person submitting controls the email or phone used for follow-up.

Limit

Set a future firm limit

The consumer chooses the maximum number of eligible firms that could receive the request only if matching is separately activated later. The pilot does not release it.

Control

Track, pause, resume, or withdraw privately

A private status link shows whether any firm has been authorized. During the public pilot, both firm counts remain zero because lawyer access and distribution are disabled.

Keep the first description short and factual

  • The general kind of legal issue
  • The city and state connected to it
  • Whether a known date or deadline may exist
  • A safe way to contact you

Keep out of the first request

Protect details until a lawyer confirms a secure channel

  • Confidential documents or evidence
  • Social Security, bank, or account numbers
  • Passwords or private access links
  • Anything that cannot safely be shared with multiple firms

Lawyer Match is a matching service, not a law firm or emergency service. It cannot protect a deadline or guarantee that a lawyer will respond.
